Do you nail your presentation? Would you like to nail your presentation? First, let’s be sure we understand the meaning of this expression. When a speaker nails a presentation he or she delivers it flawlessly, connects with the audience and takes the audience members on a journey of transformation. Does that describe you?

Keep these 5 points in mind:

  1. Your mission is not about perfection.
  2. Start strong by using a question, a story or a startling statistic.  (Avoid starting out by displaying a slide as you want the audience to pay attention and focus on you.)
  3. Set your intention in terms of what  you want the audience to think, believe, or do as a result of listening to you. This is the transformation journey in which they’ll participate.  It’s analogous to a call to action.
  4.  Monitor your timing so you know if you have to cut or add from your content to adhere to the allotted time frame.
  5. Conclude in the same way as you began; think about coming full circle.  That means for example, that if you started with a question, you want to end with a question.

Communication is always about the audience…not us.

If you’d like to discuss your presentation with me, I’m interested in hearing from you or a member of your team.

Helping you nail your presentation is my goal.  Can’t wait to hear from you.
