To repurpose is to use in a new way.
Most of the clients I’ve had the privilege of assisting to sound their best when they communicate, believe their work is done once they give their presentation. While it may feel that way to some, the reality is that when you give your presentation, there’s still quite a bit of work to do. That is— if you want to get the word out about your expertise. I know I do; how about you?
Think about all the hard work you put into your presentation. That includes the needs assessment you conduct on your target audience, the content you include, the slides you may choose to design, all of your practice, revisions you may make, actual delivery of your presentation and there may even be more. Considering that list, doesn’t it make good sense to repurpose your presentation and get more mileage?
Here are some opportunities you may decide to ponder:
- Use your presentation to write a blog.
- Use your presentation to create an article.
- How about writing a book or developing an e-book?
- If you like podcasts, your presentation could be the basis of your next podcast.
- Maybe with modifications, you could use your presentation for a webinar or even a seminar.
- If you’re a fan of Youtube, you might create a captivating video using your presentation.
- If you opt to record your presentation, you may excerpt a portion and put it on your website.
That’s a good starter list; you may have additional ideas. At the very least use your presentation by adding it to your resources so you can come back to it anytime you need it. If you’d like to discuss other routes to go, please feel free to contact me and I’ll be happy to discuss or answer your questions.
Best of luck as you get MORE mileage!
