Do you know your own self-worth? Tough question but one with which we should place great value.  Self-worth can be “measured” by several variables such as:

how many connections we have on social media

how much money we have

our to-do list

our job title

our age

our appearance

Please know that any of these variables may change at any point and are quite temporary.  Reality is the only person that controls your self-worth is you.  It’s imperative that you realize and believe this.  It’s vitally important to own and value your worth.  So how is that accomplished? I suggest you:

  1. Determine what you represent or stand for.
  2. Think about who you currently help.
  3. Think about those you’ve helped in the past.
  4. Ask for testimonials from people you’ve assisted. Include texts and reviews, if appropriate.
  5. Collect these statements as they add value.
  6. Ensure that you follow-up with what you promise.

Each of these important steps helps you to acknowledge your worth. Once you do that it’s easier to build a sense of confidence which may translate into a price. You may want the price you consider acceptable and the price you prefer. In other words—you own it! Next you want to try out your pricing and track the results you get. That will tell you if you need to adjust your price. If you look back at the first list of six items in this post, you’ll see the limitations. Now look at the second list and I hope you can see the difference.

Determining our self-worth isn’t easy but this offers you a game plan and a good starting point. It allows you to feel more confident in your price and as I said earlier, you can always change it as needed. That approach makes sense out of nonsense.
